Within a short period of time we became the plate champions last year under me. So I'll do my very best along with my new assistant coach Anuranga Walpola to make the Army rugby team a champion outfit".

Meanwhile former Isipathana College, CR & FC, Kandy SC, Havelock SC and Sri Lanka rugby player Anuranga Walpola have taken over as the assistant coach of the Army rugby team for the upcoming 2020 inter-club rugby season. He will take charge as the forward coach of the Army.
