Following the detection of a member of the Gampaha Municipal Council (MC) who tested positive for COVID-19, the council was thoroughly disinfected yesterday.
The individual underwent a PCR test after showing symptoms and it was later confirmed that he had contracted the virus. Gampaha Administrative Public Health Inspector Saminda Samaradiwakara said that steps have been taken to track down about 75 of his close associates who have been identified in the vicinity of Visakha Road, Gampaha.
