Richmondite left hander Dimuth Sandaruwan gave a sterling batting display in the Under 19 Division One inter-School Cricket (Two day) tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association. He scored 713 runs in 20 innings with two centuries and three half centuries with a top score of 174 against Ananda College and claimed 39 victims behind the stumps as the wicket keeper.

Dimuth Sandaruwan commenced his schools level Cricket from Cricket academy of Karandeniya Central College under coach Dinesh Kumara in 2011. He represented the school under 13 team in 2012 under Ajantha Kumara. He scored only 160 runs with a fifty in five matches in the same year. Karandeniya Central College was runner-up of the under 13 division two tournament under Dimuth Sandaruwan in 2014. He scored 980 runs with 3 centuries and 6 fifties and he was best batsman in the tournament in the same year.

13 years old Dimuth represented the school first XI team as a fresher and he played only few games in the season 2014/2015. He scored 420 runs with 4 fifties in the school under 15 tournament in 2015. He represented the Galle district under 15 team in the Prima Champions trophy Inter district tournament in the same year. He scored 600 runs with 3 fifties in the under 19 schools season of 2015/2016.

He represented the school under 15 team and scored 380 runs with 4 fifties in 2016. He represented Galle district under 15 team in the Prima Champions trophy Inter district tournament in the same year.

He scored 925 runs with 3 centuries and 5 fifties in the under 19 season of 2016/2017.

He represented the under 17 team and scored 480 runs with a century and a half century in 2017. He represented champion Southern Province team in the under 19 Inter provincial tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket.

He scored 960 runs with 3 centuries and 6 fifties in the under 19 season of 2017/2018.

He joined Richmond College Galle in 2018 after O/L. He represented the under 17 team and he scored 390 runs with 3 fifties in 2018. He scored 410 runs with 2 centuries in under 19 season of 2018/2019.

He represented Negombo CC in the under 23 Inter Clubs Cricket season in 2020. He scored 110 runs with a half century in three matches.
