The skipper of Dharmaraja College Kandy Dulaj Bandara turned in a superb batting display in the 2019-20 season of the Under 19 Division One inter School Cricket (Two day) tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association.

Skipper Right hand batsman and right arm medium paceman Dulaj Bandara scored 690 runs with a century and four half centuries in the 15 matches. He scored 108 runs against S. Thomas’ College Mount. Lavinia. He was the highest scorer for Dharmaraja College Kandy in the season of 2019/20.

Dharmaraja College was the runner up in the six a side Col. Sir Henry Steel Olcott memorial Schools Cricket tournament in 2019 hosted by Mahinda College Galle at Galle International Cricket stadium.

Dulaj started his school Cricket career at Dharmaraja College Kandy in 2012. He represented the under 13 team in three seasons from 2012 to 2014. He led the college under 13 team in 2014. He represented college Under 15 team in 2015. He represented Kandy district team in the Prima Champion Trophy under 15 inter district Cricket tournament and Central Province team in the inter Provinccial Cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket in 2015. He led Fingara Cricket Criket Club Colombo (Academy) at the Nelson Mendis Under 14 inter Academy Cricket tournament and was the champions in 2015. Dulaj Bandara was the man of the tournament and best bowler. He was the highest run getter in the tournament.

He led the school under 15 team in 2016. He scored 347 runs with a century and two half centuries. He scored 101 runs against D.S. Senanayake College Colombo and took 19 wickets. He led Kandy district team. He scored 330 runs with two centuries and two half centuries. He made centuries against Nuwara Eliya district and Kandy (Middle) team. He led Central Province team in 2016 and scored 146 runs with a half century in four matches.

He represented school under 17 team in 2017.and scored 320 runs with two half centuries. He led school under 17 team in 2018. He made 410 runs with three fifties.

He represented the college first XI team as a fresher at the age of 15 years in the season 2016/17. He scored over 450 runs with two fifties. Dulaj represented the college under 19 team in the season 2017/18. and scored over 600 runs with 4 fifties and made 67 runs against arch rivals Kingswood College Kandy and he was the best batsman of Limited Overs big match in 2018.

He was the best batsman of the college in the season 2017/18 at the Schools Colours Nite. He represented the Central Province under 19 team in the provincial tournament held in 2018.

Dulaj Bandara represented the college first XI team as 3rd year player in the season 2018/19. He scored over 650 runs with five half centuries. His best knock in the season was 99 runs against Zahira College Colombo. He was the highest run scorer for Dharmaraja College Kandy for the season 2018/19. He was adjudged best bastman at the College Colours Night in 2019. He received the award for the best Cricketer of Dharmaraja College for the year 2018/19 and received “The Gopal” trophy.
