SLFP proposes to reactivate PCs

The SLFP Central Working Committee which met yesterday at the SLFP Headquarters under its leader and former President Maithripala Sirisena have proposed to the government to reactivate the Provincial Councils until the elections are held.

"The SLFP decided to propose to the government to revive the Provincial Councils and to appoint party and electoral level coordinators to handle the administration of the provincial councils until the elections," State Minister and the SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara told the Daily News. "Until the PC elections are held, the PC councillors who were earlier in office will be able to perform their services to meet the needs of the public," he said.
