Economy will be uplifted while adhering to health guidelines – State Minister Lanza

The economy will be uplifted by the Government while adhering to the health guidelines, Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure State Minister Nimal Lanza said.

He recently inaugurated several Road Development Projects in the Puttalam District including the Palasolamukku Thoduwawa Road, Sengakattuwa Temple Main Road and Mudalappaliya internal roads in the Puttalam District at a cost of Rs. 265 million.

"We cannot stop development work because of COVID. While taking action to protect from COVID, we have to carry out the development work. The Health Ministry is carrying out diplomatic activities under the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO) to obtain the COVID vaccine. The people will give their fullest support to the Health and Security Forces to battle against COVID. All must unite to control the virus and run the country towards prosperity,” the State Minister said.

“We rehabilitate roads because the country needs an advanced road network to carry out the development work. Over 273 km of road work worth Rs. 45,000 million have been commenced in the Puttalam District. Another Rs. 20,000 million will be spent in this regard. In another four years, all roads in the Puttalam District will be completed will be developed,” State Minister Nimal Lanza said.

Rural and Divisional Drinking Water Supply Projects Development State Minister Sanath Nishantha, Foreign Employment Promotion and Market Diversification State Minister Priyankara Jayaratne, Coconut, Kithul and Palmyrah Cultivation Promotion and Related Industrial Product Manufacturing and Export Diversification State Minister Arundika Fernando, Parliamentarians Chinthaka Mayadunna and Ali Sabri Raheem, former Provincial Councillors, local political leaders and RDA officials were present.
