The area from Maruthamunai to Periyaneelavanai has been isolated from January 9 after 12 persons of the area have tested COVID positive after Rapid Antigen and PCR tests were conducted on them last week.
Shops and business premises have been closed and the residents have been asked to wear face masks whenever they go out.
Legal action will be taken against those who do not follow the health guidelines, police said.
