PM OPENS BUILDING AT THURSTAN COLLEGE

The oldest building of Thurstan College, Colombo, which was renovated to coincide with its 71st anniversary was declared open yesterday by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. The building which was in a state of disrepair and dilapidation was renovated by the Sri Lanka Navy with the intervention of the Ministry of Defence. Minister of Education Prof. G.L. Peiris, Minister of Trade Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong, Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne, G.V. Ravipriya, Director General of Customs, Pramuditha Wickramasinghe, Principal Thurstan College, teachers, members of the Alumni Association and school children were present.
