BDC and Green Angels International School jointly introduces LHP

The goal of this Language Hub Programme (LHP) is to establish a foundation to increase the English language proficiency among future youth population of the country. Many studies have shown that the best time to study a new language is by the age of 10.

The objective of Language Hub Programme is to provide English education, training, and skill development for primary schooling students in terms of spoken, reading, writing, and listening.

The LH Programme is targeting the students who has finished the scholarship examination and expecting for the results to come out in 3 months’ time. Not only the scholarship students but also the students who are in age between 9-12 can be participate for this programme as well.

Once students have completed the LH Programme, they will be awarded with a recognized and a valid certificate for their future reference.

The approach for this programme consists of a unique style, where it develops breadth in language use, vocabulary, and encourages fluency.

The LH Programme is a 3-month programme, where the curriculum is made out of different books and resources to keep things interesting. The programme structure includes speaking, pronunciation, role playing scenarios, and 50 hrs. of study sessions. The students have two classes per week by covering 4 hours.

Well experienced local and foreign teachers are engaging with this programme. In the class, teachers will be practicing curriculum through interactive lessons, homework, and tests. At the end of the programme students will be more confident in speaking, reading, writing, improve their critical thinking abilities and more importantly they will become more interested in learning English.

Instead of solely concentrating on traditional teaching, the LH Programme is a play-based, project-based, practical, student centered language learning programme. In addition, the programme has specifically designed methods to integrate with child’s parents to review the performance of the students.

Earlier the LH Programme was planned to conduct in the selected education centres island wide.

However, with the prevailing situation of COVID-19, the programme will be conducting in an online platform.
