Preserving memories

Commemorating Founders Day of York International School, Kadawatha, the staff joined hands the Lions Club of Kiribathgoda to host a blood donation camp and a free eye testing clinic on January 24 at the school premises.

The blood donation camp was successfully held with the contribution of blood donors under the supervision of the medical officers of the Gampaha National Hospital Dr Sisira Vidanagamage and Dr Bodhika Liyanage, adhering to all health guidelines imposed by the Government due to the pandemic. The event was organized mainly due to the shortage of blood supplies at the National Hospital in Gampaha.

Parallel to the blood donation, a free eye clinic was held. Sponsored by Dilusha de Silva, owner of Dilusha Optics and Optometrists, Ratmalana, the event was put together with the assistance of Eranga Thepulangoda.

The event was the brainchild of Wathsala Senanayake, Principal of YISK. Chairman of York International School network and York Graduate Campus, Rohan Perera, directors Deshan Perera, Roshane Perera, CEO Rohan Lalith Perera, YISW Principal Srinali Perera, members of the Lions Club of Kiribathgoda, academic and none academic staff of YISK and YISWand parents took part.
