The Balapitiya Health Medical Officer's Office said that 16 persons who went on a leisure trip had contracted the corona virus.
They are residents of Andadola, Wathugedara, Randombe and Kosgoda.
A person from the Weligama area has also joined the trip and PCR tests have been carried out on the other participants of the trip as a resident of Weligama was reported to be infected with corona. It was found that 16 people involved in the trip had contracted corona.
