Rancrisp Cashew wins Gold, Silver at SLIM Brand Excellence

Rancrisp Cashew bagged Gold Award for the “Brand of the Year 2020” and the Silver Award for the “Export Brand of the Year 2020” in SME category at the ‘SLIM Brand Excellence’ held at BMICH, Colombo.

Having started, in 1981, as a small family business by Eden Thamel who pioneered the manufacturing value-added cashew products, the company has seen remarkable growth in terms of both products range and export destinations over the years. Apart from several high-quality cashew products, today, Rancrisp Cashew manufactures a diverse range of products in Cassava Chips, Potato Chips, Taro Chips, Jack Fries, Rancrisp Fruit Pulp and Preparation, Dried Fruits and Vegetables.

Managing Director, Samantha Thamel, who took after from his late father said the secret behind their success is the innovation while keeping the quality and natural taste of cashew and other fruits. “We have the pride in owning the first-ever sophisticated cashew processing plant in Sri Lanka. Our factory located at Ja-Ela manufactures chips and cashew products while the facility at Dambulla mainly processes fruit-based products. We supply fruit pulp and preparations for many leading food producers.”

A new facility is under construction at Dambulla which will add 5 tons a month capacity to our factories towards the end of this year.

Head of Marketing, Harsha Wickramaratne, said that with its head office located at Archbishop Lane Thudella, Ja-Ela Rancrisp Cashew now runs 21 sales outlets in key cities and strategic points apart from distributing its products through major supermarket chains.

Rancrisp Cashew is the first cashew manufacturer to receive quality certifications such as ISO 22000, HACCP and GMP.

Rancrisp Cashew is one of the leading pure Sri Lankan cashew exporters to well-established export market including UK, USA, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, UAE, Angola, Congo, Belgium and the Maldives.
