Hospital employees protest against new appointments

Anuradhapura Hospital employees yesterday staged a protest against the appointment of 50 junior staffers. Nearly 350 junior staff members joined the protest and provided their service only for essential services.

National Health Services Association Convener P.B. Wijesinghe said that many new appointees do not have the minimum qualification and it would make their work difficult since they have to work with inexperienced people.

They must have at least six passes at the O/L Exam but many of these new appointees do not have the minimum qualification, he said.
