Media Minister Dr.Keheliya Rambukwella has requested the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 to make arrangements to vaccinate journalists soon.
The Minister has made this request at the COVID-19 Prevention Committee meeting which was held unde the patronage President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Media Ministry sources said on Tuesday.
The Minister has opined that the media persons have been discharging a great service in disseminating information on the COVID-19, since the virus was detected from the country and the media persons deserve to be vaccinated on a priority basis. According to Information Department statistics, the country has nearly 6,000 journalists and around 1,150 of them are provincial journalists.
