Dr. Anil Jasinghe to APN Vice Presidency

Environment Ministry Secretary Dr. Anil Jasinghe has been appointed the Vice President of the Asia Pacific Network for Global Change Research.

The appointment was made at the recent Asia Pacific Network (APN) Intergovernmental Meeting on Technology.

The Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) is an intergovernmental conference. An intergovernmental network promotes policy-oriented research and capacity building activities related to global change. It consists of 22 member countries including Sri Lanka. APN receives financial contributions from member countries, with financial support from the United States, Japan, the Republic of Korea and New Zealand.

The APN seeks to identify scientific facts to promote and encourage research on global change in regional cooperation. Dr. Anil Jasinghe previously served as the Vice President of the Executive Council of the World Health Organization in 2020.
