Trinity field an experienced side this season

With the greenlight given for the under 19 inter school cricket,Trinity College are in Division I Tier “A” with teams like Royal College,D.S. Senanayake College, De Mazenod College, Gurukula College and Wesley College, so this time it is going to be a one day game and expected to start, after the completion of the postponed GCE Ordinary Level examination. Their first game will be against Royal College. They are sure to play their traditional games too.

Last season they played in Group D ,and played six tournament games, and had four outright wins, one first innings win and a loss and led the table with 109.07 points with an average of 18.179 points.. They also played some of their traditional games and the big match against St. Anthony’s College which was the 104th Kandy Battle of the Blues,but the 40th one day had to be called off due to corona virus. This time they are hoping to play the big match.

Trinity College will be fielding a talented and experienced side. Packed with no less than eight experienced players, the Trinitians look forward for a successful season. It should be said that Trinity College is one of the oldest cricket playing schools in the country. Before the second World War, Trinity not only produced several top class cricketers but also produced several invincible teams. Trinity is a school in Kandy which provides all the facilities for the sport. They have a superb indoor net, bowling machine, and an international stadium.

He is a fine right hand bat and an off spinner who is sure to do well. There is Shane Gunatillake a coloursman who is an excellent left-hand bat who gave a good batting display last season, Umari Raizan is also a coloursman, The others in the squad are Matheesha Pathirana, Deemantha Bandara.
