Parents urged to complain about errant principals

Many complaints have been lodged by parents that certain school heads are asking for undue donations and bribes to admit students to schools, Bribery Commission Investigation Director Padmini Weerasooriya said.

She told Daily News that the parents who wish to admit their children to Grade One and Grade Six classes are compelled to carry out these undue demands. She, therefore, urged the parents to complain about such school heads to the Commission on its Hot Line 1954. “We will act promptly to nab the offenders,” she said.
