Central Government Governor, Attorney-at-Law Lalith U. Gamage said that a circular will be issued to minimise the difficulties in obtaining registration to start a business.

He said that the Government will provide more opportunities for budding entrepreneurs.

The Governor was participating in the 16th Star Awards Ceremony, organised by the Provincial Industry Ministry for businesspersons in the Central Province.

The event was held at the Grand Kandyan Hotel, Kandy on February 12. Of the 30,000 entrepreneurs in the Central Province, 84 were presented with Merit, Products and Service Category awards.

The Central Province Governor said that the Government will make at least one entrepreneur from every village covering 14,000 villages to build a stronger economy.

He said that demand in the market can be increased by introducing innovative products.

Kandy City Centre Chairman Thusitha Wijayasena said that when food items such as vine, breadfruit and king coconut are marketed in countries like Indonesia, new ways are used.
