People must take full advantage of their Government - PM

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa emphasized that it is the responsibility of the people to form a government and take advantage of it as much as possible.

He was speaking at the opening of the four-storey multi-purpose building in Beruwala which was built at a cost of Rs. 140 million.

“President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in particular is a leader who works over 15 hours a day. To be honest I don't work that much. However, he sits down and implements his programme with an understanding of all these institutions and local government bodies. So we have to take advantage of it,” the premier said. “I see it as the responsibility of the people to form a government and make the most of it. Otherwise, appointing ministers, appointing MPs, building a council and appointing MPs would be a loss to the province as well as to us if it’s not made use off.”

State Ministers Piyal Nishantha, Jayantha Samaraweera, MPs Anupa Pasqual, Sanjeewa Edirimanne, Marjan Faleel, Former Chief Minister of the Western Province Isuru Devapriya, Chairman of the Beruwala Pradeshiya Sabha Menaka Wimalaratne and a number of Pradeshiya Sabha members were also present at the occasion.
