Kavinda Sameera Jayasuriya is one of the most successful cricketers and coaches who played as an all-rounder for Trinity College Kandy. . He is the head coach of Trinity College for the last six years. He is a qualified Sri Lanka level one and Australia level two coach and is all-out to make this year one of their most successful seasons.

Kavinda played for Trinity College for four years, and also represented Kandy District under 17 and 19, teams and also Central Province under 17 and 19 teams. As a cricketer he won the best batsman award in the big match in 2010 and was awarded the man of the match award in the all island final.in2011 ..He was a top class cricketer during his school days, a right-hand batsman, and later assisted Sampath Perera in coaching.

After Sampath’s departure he took over as coach and continues the good work. Under his coaching, Trinity College enjoyed success. Kavinda’s coaching has helped Trinitians in a big way. He has introduced a number of new players

He also Played a club season in England for the Red Bull campus cricket world cup in England.(represented ICBT).He also played for Kandy CC (Under 23) and in the Sara tournament, Then for Kandy Youth CC in (Sara trophy), United Southern CC in (Sara trophy), OTSC in (division three) and Tri youth CC (Donovan trophy ). He also captained and coached Kandy CC, and coached Tri youth CC Kandy Youth CC and OTSC. He started his coaching journey in 2012 as a volunteer, then joined officially Trinity as the Under19 assistant coach and was appointed as the head coach in 2015 when he was 23 years old and has been in coaching for eight years out of which five years as head coach.. He helped the school to be the 2015/16-all island best team, 2017/18 made them the runner up in the all island under19 division one league and in 2019/20 - ended the season as division one table top team. He produced ten players who represented Sri Lanka under 19 in his five seasons as coach
