Exterminators win Gold at ‘COVID-19 Restart Sri Lanka Awards’

The Exterminators, Sri Lanka’s premier environmental enhancement solutions provider won the Gold Award under the SME-Service Sector category at Restart Sri Lanka Resilience Awards 2020.

The event was jointly organized by the Prime Minister’s Office and (SLIM) Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing.

The Covid-19 pandemic resulted in new challenges across organizations. The SLIM Restart Resilience Awards 2020 was organized to recognize and reward the outstanding efforts of organizations which withstood and overcame the challenges resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Exterminators decided that to survive this unprecedented situation, the company needed to take some bold steps. Although it was a great risk, doing nothing was more of greater risk. Therefore, the following strategic steps were taken considering all factors while mitigating the risk of our employees, customers, community and suppliers. Exterminators ‘ High-Risk COVID-19’team with 8specialized disinfectors working from the office and 5 sales and operations staff working from home, ventured into a brand new industry named ‘Anti-Microbial Disinfection’.

The services were provided countrywide even during curfew/lockdown periods to help the community to fight COVID-19 and businesses all over Sri Lanka to get back to business.

Exterminators disinfected schools, railway stations, bus stations, underpass and South Asia’s tallest tower ‘The Lotus Tower’ area covering over 200,000 sqft.

Since March 2020, Exterminators has increased salaries of all employees by 10-50% while the directors’ salaries were reduced by 40%. Four motorbikes were donated to the High-Risk COVID-19 team members.
