Nesangi Hemakumara cruised to a convincing win over Dahamna Methsadani in the Girls’ Under-18 Singles third-round match of the Colombo Open Tennis Tournament, continued at the SLTA Courts in Green Path yesterday.
Nesangi rallied around well to pull off a straight set 6-3, 6-2 win and joined the quarter-final line-up along with Dinethya Dharmarathne and Vishmi Serasinghe.

Boys’ Under-16 Singles (quarter-finals): Vichinthya Nilaweera beat Lisal Goonathilake 6-1, 6-2. Rayan Bentarage beat Sandaru Guruge 6-4, 6-4. Zahid Zihar beat A. Abeywardane 6-0, 6-3.
Girls’ Under-18 Singles (third-round): Dinethya Dharmarathne beat Menuki Wanniarachchi 6-1, 6-3. Nesangi Hemakumara beat Dahamna Methsadani 6-3, 6-2. Vishmi Serasinghe beat Zeenath Zihar 6-1, 6-2. (A.N)
