Trinity in command over Sylvestrians on Day-1

The first inter school cricket match between Trinity College and St. Sylvester’s College marked the return of cricket to the two schools after almost 11 months since the Corona virus pandemic forced the stoppage of cricket in March last year. This has been a warm up friendly game and good cricket was seen in action.

This match was played at the Asgiriya Stadium. St. Sylvester’s College taking the first lease of the wicket after winning the toss were bundled out for 201 runs in 59 overs. Trinity College in reply did well with the bat and were 148 for 1 at the end of the first day, with Abhishek Anandakumar 56 not out and Umari Raizan 66 not out.
