Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Puligal Party (TMVPP) General Secretary Poopalapillai Prasanthan, who is in remand for allegedly intimidating witnesses in the Arayampathy double murder case, was remanded till March 1.
When his case was taken up for hearing on Zoom on Monday, Batticaloa Magistrate A.C.Rizwan ordered to remand him for another 14 days. Prasanthan was arrested on November 23 for the double murder that happened in 2008.
While on bail, he was ordered to be rearrested by the Attorney General’s Department for intimidating the witnesses of the case.
