Seventeen suspects including 13 Police officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau who were arrested on drug trafficking charges were further remanded till February 23 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddhika Sri Ragala yesterday.
When the matter was taken up before the court, the Magistrate ordered prison officials to direct the three individuals to undergo PCR tests and produce them to the court to make confidential statements on the next calling date. Investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Criminal Investigations Department.
