Akesha Silva and Movindi Fernando celebrate their win
Akesha Silva and Movindi Fernando clinched the Girls’ Under-14 Doubles title at the Colombo Open Tennis Tournament, which continued at the SLTA Courts in Green Path yesterday.
The favourites rallied around well and went on to beat the combination of Nimasha Silva and Brinda Fernando 6-1, 6-1 in the final encounter.

Boys’ Under-12 Singles (semi-finals): Lithum Jayabandu beat Ganuka Fernando 5-7, 6-4, 10-7. Methuka Wickramasinghe beat Gehash Tissera 6-1, 5-7, 10-8.
Boys’ Under-16 Singles (semi-finals): Kiran Vairavanathan beat Vichinthya Nilaweera 6-3, 7-5, 10-2. Zaidh Zihar beat Rayan Bentarage 6-0, 6-2.
Girls’ Under-14 Doubles (final) Akesha Silva and Movindi Fernando beat Nimasha Silva and Brinda Fernando 6-1, 6-1. (A.N)
