Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Thursday opened the newly constructed “Honda Hitha Nelum Budu Kuluna” (Lotus Buddha Tower) in Polgahawelena, Thissamaharamaya. The construction was made with a financial donation by Owner of ‘Hondahitha’ business Manawathilake Warshahannadi. The tower with the Buddha statue is erected at ‘Hondahitha’ premises in Thissamaharamaya. The Buddha statue is 16 feet tall and 9 feet in width. It has been designed by Ven. Rathnapure Nanda Thera.
