President uplifted living standards amidst COVID-19 pandemic: Gamalath

The President has uplifted living standards amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and economic recession, State Minister Siripala Gamalath said. He was addressing a recent meeting held by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Medirigiriya Electoral Committee at the Diyasenpura Weekly Fairground.

State Minister Gamalath said that the government has taken steps to make people’s dreams a reality.

He added that the public would soon reap the benefits of the newly-launched projects.

“The global economy has collapsed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the President has taken steps to solve the issues brought on by it. Furthermore, the government has taken steps to uplift rural economy and infrastructure,” the state minister said.

He added that certain parties were attempting to prevent the government’s efforts to develop the country by spreading false information.

Gamalath also said that a number of projects are to be carried out soon in 53 Grama Niladhari divisions of Medirigiriya and Lankapura.

MP Kapila Athukorala, Medirigiriya Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Shantha Kumara Wickramarachchi, and Elehara Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Janaka Nalin Kumara were also present.
