Mega development projects for Homagama

Eight development projects will commence in Homagama soon, Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena said.

Those are called, “Future Development Projects in Mahenawatta Area, Homagama”.

A wholesale exchange centre in Meegoda, granary in Godagama, sports city in Diyagama, knowledge city in Homagama, biodiversity city in Barawa, mega supermarket in Homagama, apparel town in Ingiriya-Godagama and an export city in Kahathuduwa will include in the eight projects.

Another project will be set up in Colombo and two more outside Colombo.

A residential apartment complex will be set up in Panadura. Two projects will be in Anuradhapura and Mihintale.

A discussion was held at the Urban Development and Housing Ministry Auditorium in this regard recently.

Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena, Urban Development and Housing Ministry Secretary Sirinimal Perera, Director General Prasad Ranaweera and many other officials were present.

Minister Gunawardena said that the Government is investing in the development of the garment sector in Homagama. The Urban Development Authority (UDA) Director General said that plans to develop Homagama will be formulated and submitted to the Minister.

The eight development projects will be set up according to the instructions of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and administered by Urban Development, Coast Conservation, Waste Disposal, and Public Sanitation State Minister Nalaka Godahewa. - www.news.lk
