The two-week course that the Sri Lanka Navy Special Vessel Squadron conducted in Trincomalee on entering suspicious vessels, taking into custody suspects on boards, identifying explosive items, and preventing such attacks among others ended on February 19.
The course was conducted under the supervision of the UN Office of Drugs and Crimes in the international seas. Twenty four personnel from the Navy and the Coast Guard participated in the course.
The participants received the certificates from the Trincomalee Commander Captain Nissanka Wickremesinghe and Eastern Deputy Commander Commodore C. Anura Danapala.
