Sri Lanka Youth Chess Grand Prix from March 11 to 21

The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka has decided to conduct the second Sri Lanka National under 14 years Chess Grand Prix from March11 to 21 at CFSL headquarters in Nugegoda.

This is one of the leading Chess Events in Sri Lanka for the Youth Chess players in the country where only 12 top youth Chess players can participate in the Round Robin system. If number of players requested are considerably high, then they will revert back to last year system.

The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka is offering cash awards of RS. 55,000 , Medals and Trophies for the winners.

Chess players with the following performance are eligible: International players are also welcome. Players should be under 14 years by 1st January 2021.

1. All National Chess Team players.

2. Top eight players in the Sri Lanka National Youth Chess Championship 2019 – Under 13 Years.

3. Top three Players of the CFSL Youth under 14 Years C’ship 2021

3. Top three players in the Sri Lanka National Youth Chess Championship 2019 – Under 13 Years. Girls

3. Top three players in the Sri Lanka National Youth Chess Championship 2019 –U 11 Years.

4. The Champion of the Sri Lanka National Youth Chess C’ship 2019 – Under 11years Girls

5. Top three players of SL National Amateur Chess Championship 2019

6. Top three Players in Junior National Chess Championship 2019

7. Ten players according to the latest International Rating List below 14 years but above 1600.

8. Two players with the highest performance from the International Rating Chess Tournaments held so far. (Earlier points system is used to rank, Under 15 or open Champion get 10, Runner up 9, Third 8 till no 10 get 1) (Instead of points system Should win at least one event Under 12/ 13/ 15 category, or rating category) placed in top three in another./ Played at least five events)

9. Wild Card Entries

Those who are interested to get Wild Card Entries should make a request with their FIDE ID, Highest rating achieved ever, and performances to declare. These entries are allowed after evaluation by CFSL. (D.R)
