Italy to shut shops and schools amid ‘new wave’ of coronavirus

Italy is once again struggling to contain the rapid spread of virus with the ‘new wave’.

 Shops, schools and restaurants will be closed on Monday across most of Italyincluding the two most populous regions containing Rome and Milan. Also, for three days after Easter, (03-05 April), there will be a total lockdown.

The country has reported more than 100 000 Covid-19 related deaths as the Europe's second highest deaths after the UK. The number of confirmed cases have been rising across Italy for the past six weeks, exceeding 25 000 a day.

Residents require staying home except for work, health or other essential reasons.
