Athlete and Volleyball Captain and five times Best Volleyball Player of the year Warnakulasuriya Sanjana Nethmini Peiris has brought honour and glory to her school Wekada Maha Vidyalaya, Dankotuwa

She was born on 12th March 2005. In 2011 she was admitted to Sri Rathanajothi Primary School and her Principal was Mrs. Jessica and her first class teacher was Mrs. Nalika. When she was in Grade Two she participated in the Inter House Sports Meet and came first in 50 and 75 metres and in the following year too she won the same events and when she was in Grade Four she swept the board in 50, 75 and 100 metres and became the under 11 Champion and in the following year too she repeated the same performances.

Though she won the Championship in Athletics her forte is volleyball and her parents Sanjith Susantha Peiris and Nayana Nilmini Silva encouraged her to play volleyball and in the same year she came under the school Volleyball Coach and Prefect of Games Saman Bandara and at the Divisional and Zonal under 13 tournaments they were runners up and in the following year too they were the runners up in the District Tournament and in the Provincial tournament they came third When she was in Grade ten they won the Divisional, Zonal and Provincial tournament and at the All Island Tournament their school came up to Best Eight.

She captained the school volleyball team from Grade Seven to Eleven and she was the best Volleyball Player of the school too in these years.

In 2019 they were the runners up of Inter Schools DSI Tournament and in 2020 too they came up to the Best Eight. Once again when she was in Grade Ten taking part in the Inter House Sports Meet she won Putt Shot, Javelin and Discus Throw Events and became the under 16 School Champion.
