Workshop on “Conflict Management and Reconciliation”

A one day workshop and discussion on “Conflict Management and Reconciliation” organised by Asia Lanka Social Development Co-operation (ALSDC), jointly with National Peace Council of Sri Lanka was held for Kalutara District Provincial Journalists at Lake View Hotel recently.

Lectures and discussions were held by Mrs. Buddhima Sirimanna (Lecturer of Philosophy at Kelaniya University), Sachith N. Hewage (Executive Director, National Peace Council), M. R. Sandaruwan (Programme Manager, ALSDC, Kalutara) and Sachith Samuditha (Lecturer, ALSDC, Kalutara).

National Peace Council (NPC) was established by an inter-religious group of civil society leaders in 1995 during the height of the LTTE terrorist conflict to promote a sustainable peaceful end to the ethnic conflict. The mission of the organisation is to engage in public education and advocacy so that solutions fair and just to all ethnic and religious communities may be found with the people’s participation.
