Fifteen year old up and coming volleyball player Krishani Hiruni Maduwanthi has brought honour and fame to her school Wekada Maha Vidyalaya Dankotuwa. She was born on 1st August 2005 and she was admitted to the Primary School of Wekada Vidyalaya in January 2011 when Mrs. Jessica was the Principal and her first class teacher was Mrs. Kusum.

When Krishani was in Grade Three to Five she did athletics at the Inter House Sports Meets and her events were 50 and 100 metres and with the blessings of her parents W. P. Radhu and Nirosha Priyadarshani she commenced volleyball in 2016 and came under her school coach Saman Bandara and participated in the Inter House Volleyball Competitions and excelled . But they did not go for Divisional and Zonal Tournaments in that year.

In 2017 it was the same pattern and in 2018 after the school tournament they participated in the Divisional tournament and came second but could not come up to expectations in the Zonal Tournament and in the following year they won the Divisional and Zonal and in the DSI District Tournament they clinched the second place and finally in 2020 DSI District Tournament they came up to Best Eight She is well supported by her Principal .
