Seven Ayurvedic hospitals in EP also ready

Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath has ordered the conversion of seven Ayurvedic hospitals in the Eastern Province into treatment centres in Covid.

The Governor has instructed Eastern Province Indigenous Medicine Department Commissioner Dr.R.Sridhar to take all necessary action immediately.

To date, 283 corona patients in the Eastern Province have been treated at these Ayurvedic hospitals. Trincomalee - Dockyard Ayurveda Base Hospital for 50, Nilaveli Ayurveda Hospital for 48 , Batticaloa - Pudukudiyiruppu Siddha Ayurveda Hospital for 60, Eravur.

In addition, 30 persons will be treated at the Ampara -Verankaragoda District Ayurvedic Hospital, 30 at the Nintavur District Hospital and 30 at the Addalaichenai Base Hospital. Earlier, State Minister Dr.Sudarshini Fernandopulle gave consent to treat COVID-19 patients in Ayurvedic hospitals. Following this, the Governor has directed to convert these seven Ayurvedic Hospitals in the Eastern Province into COVID-19 Treatment Centres.
