The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) arrested a man working for leading drug dealers from a house in Kotikawatte of the Wellampitiya Police Division with a stock of Kerala Cannabis worth over Rs one million and Rs. 5.5 million rupees in cash earned through the sale of narcotics.
Police said the suspect, a 24-year-old from Wellampitiya was arrested by the Crimes Division on a tip-off when he was at Gnanawimala Uyana Mawatha in Dematagoda distributing drugs.

He had been brought to the Crimes Division and questioned at length which resulted in being able to discover the stock of Cannabis and cash hidden in a house in Wellampitiya.
The Colombo Crimes Division said this suspect was the chief operator of the drug distribution network of Jude Berties alias Wellampitiya Berti operating from Dubai and is a close henchman of dead organized criminal Keselwatte Dinuka. Further investigations are being carried out by the Colombo Crimes Division under Chief Inspector Anslem De Silva.
