More infrastructure facilities for Police Training College

Minister of Public Security Rear Admiral (Retd.) Dr. Sarath Weerasekera who went on an inspection tour of the Police Training College, Kalutara on Monday (02) pledged to provide the necessary equipment and infrastructure to uplift the training of the officers and to assist in the development of the training capacity.

All trainee Police personnel attached to the training schools witnessed the minister’s address through zoom.

The Minister inspected the staff quarters, hospital unit, dining hall, in-house inspection laboratory for training officers (soco) and the model training institute where the officers are being trained, the special training court and the service operating unit.

The Secretary to the Ministry Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Jagath Alwis and the IGP C.D. Wickramaratne accompanied the Minister on this visit.

DIG (Assistant Services), Priyanth Weerasuriya, DIG (National Institute of Excise and Service Training) Sajeewa Medawatte, DIG (Recruitment and Training) Attorney-at-Law Sampth Kumara Liyanage, Director, Police Training College, SSP Ajith Sahesiri and all the Deputy Directors including the Chief Executive Officer of the National Police Training Institute Manjula Mahagirilla, were also present.
