CSHR calls applications for Multi-Disciplinary Courses

The Centre for the Study of Human Rights (CSHR) has called applications for Multi-Disciplinary Courses for 2021.

The CSHR, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo is a centre of excellence for human rights education and research using a multidisciplinary approach. It conducts and facilitates human rights education and research programmes.

The CSHR has two wings - the Planning and Implementing Human Right based projects with the collaboration of national and international organisations and conducting training and human rights education and research programmes. An important outcome of human rights education is empowerment, a process through which people and communities increase their control of their own lives and the decisions that affect them.

The CSHR focuses to eliminate disparity and inculcate respect for diversity by offering multi-disciplinary courses in Sinhala, Tamil and English. The courses could be followed even by the students with GCE Advanced Level and/or GCE Ordinary Level qualifications. Experience in the relevant field related to the chosen coursework will be an added advantage to follow the courses.

Beginning from a certificate level course could lead to pursuing a masters degree in human rights.

Only a limited number of students will be accommodated at a time. Applications can be downloaded from the CSHR website: https://cshr.cmb.ac.lk.
