Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa said that although it was the government’s responsibility to serve the people at this difficult juncture, the government was only serving its cronies.
The Opposition Leader said that corruption and malpractices were rampant in the country and the people were facing immense difficulties as authorities have failed to curb them and the COVID- 19 pandemic.
In this backdrop Premadasa said the Samagi Jana Balawegaya as a responsible Opposition was doing its utmost to alleviate the sufferings of the people. Premadasa was addressing an event using video technology organised to distribute medical equipment to hospitals by the SJB.
The SJB leader also criticised the government move to appoint monitoring MPs to oversee development activities calling it as an effort in wasting public money at a time when the country was facing an economic crisis.
