University Grants Commission(UGC) Chairman Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunge has informed all Vice Chancellors of State Universities countrywide that arrangements are now being made to reopen all State Universities soon.
A programme on health guidelines is being planned in collaboration with the Government Health authorities.
All employees of the State Universities who are above 30 years of age are fully vaccinated with the respective two doses by now.
“Therefore, the University employees who are below the age of 30 years and internal undergraduates too would be fully vaccinated soon by the vaccination programme now in progress at Universities. The situation will be reviewed within the next three days with the Vice Chancellors of all state Universities,” the UGC Chairman has emphasized in his circular to all Universities yesterday (22).
