Janaka Jayasundara, a special grade Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) Senior Officer, assumed duties as Anuradhapura Government Agent/Secretary recently after the retirement of R.M.Wanninayake. Janaka Jayasundara is the 74th Government Agent of the Anuradhapura District.
He was a Chemistry Teacher at the Galgamuwa and the Pinnawala Central Collages before joining the SLAS in 2000. He had been the Divisional Secretary in Ududumbara, Medadumbara, Harispaththuwa, Kandy and Peradeniya. Before the latest appointment, he was the Secretary of the Central Provincial Council.
Jayasundara graduated from the Kelaniya University and has earned his Master’s from the same. He received a Post Graduate Diploma in Management as well from the University of Peradeniya.
