All Sri Lankans are living in religious harmony - Premier

The COVID-19 pandemic, a global menace, has caused great fear among our people. This menace can be overcome with spiritual strength and proper health practices, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa states sending a message on Vijayadashami Day, 2021.

The Message:

“The Navratri celebration period is a time of great joy for the Hindu community. It is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest greetings for the Vijayadashami Day to all my dear Sri Lankan Hindu devotees.

“We should pray in the belief that divine power will support us to overcome this difficult period. I request humbly everyone to celebrate Vijayadashami Day, the last day of Navaratri, with devotion following health guidelines.

“A special feature of the festival is that it is celebrated with great devotion in the hope that all the good deeds that begin on the 10th day of Vijayadashami, will be successful.

“I sincerely wish all the people of this country a prosperous life.”
