Samurdhi, Household Economy, Micro Finances, Self Employment and Business Development State Minister Shehan Semasinghe said that the aspirations of the downtrodden masses will be fulfilled by setting up development projects in every district.
“We will never put them in difficulties. We are now visiting all the districts to resolve their issues,” the State Minister said. State Minister Shehan Semasinghe recently visited Dehiattakandiya and Maha Oya and inaugurated several development projects and distributed equipment and machinery among those in small-scale projects and handed cheques over to them to start projects. The State Minister was accompanied by MPs W.D. Weerasinghe and Dr.Thilak Rajapaksa.
State Minister Semasinghe said that certain groups criticise the development programmes, misleading the people. He, therefore, advised the people not to engage in unnecessary protests but extend their fullest co-operation to the Government to go ahead with development projects.
Aloe Vera cultivation, which was initially started in the remote villages of the Ampara District, has now been extended to various other parts of the District.
