Due to the recent heavy rains, the stretch of the A9 road leading to the Dambulla dedicated economic centre has become extremely muddy, but the Road Development Authority (RDA) has so far not taken any action to remedy this situation. Thousands of vehicles ply on this road every day and nearly 2,000 vehicles carrying vegetables arrive at this economic centre and more than 10,000 traders as well as farmers pass through this place daily, making it extremely difficult for them to travel on the muddy road. Although the A9 road from Dambulla to Matale has been re-done, residents said that the RDA has not paid attention to this part (about 500 metres) of the road. They request the Government to repair the road in front of the economic centre as soon as possible.
