Dulitha Perera took the oath of office and became the forty first (41st) President of the Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) at its Annual General Meeting held last week.

In his acceptance speech as the President of OPA, Dulitha solicited support to achieve the objectives of the OPA from the newly elected office bearers, past presidents, constituent member associations, life members and members of OPA to rally around OPA in providing insights and input on matters of national and regional interest and promoting such interest by co-operation with both Government and non-Governmental Organisations’.

Dulitha has been the moving spirit in most of the committees he represented at OPA and at other professional and social activities he involved in.

A Chartered Accountant by profession, Dulitha served OPA for many years in numerous capacities including as President Elect, Vice-President, Treasurera nd on various standing committees such as National Issues Committee, Development Policies, Strategies & Development Financing Committee, Education and Human Resource Development Committee, and Career Guidance & Skills Development Committee and Young Professionals & Outreach Programs Committee are to name a few, where he actively contributed.

The flagship event of OPA, the 34th Annual OPA Conference themed “Resurgence in the New Order” was perceived as one of the most successful events organized and was held at Shangri-La, Colombo under the leadership of Dulitha as the Chairman of the OPA Annual Conference Committee and the President Elect of OPA.

As a Partner of KPMG, one of the leading International Audit, Tax and Advisory institutions, Dulitha’s sheer range of experience and exposure in professional activities of the Global Firm has enabled him to actively contribute to providing insights on deliberations of OPA.

His leadership skills are ample testimony when he took over the reins of organizing the National Conference of Chartered Accountants. During his term Dulith a very successfully managed and chaired the entire conference which was considered to be the biggest business summit in Sri Lanka that was attended by over 2,000 professionals both in person and online. He also served as the President of the vibrant Young Chartered Accountants’ Forum (YCAF) where he stands as a leader launching several programmes towards enriching the vital soft skills of young professionals including the YCAF Freshers Eve, Fun Drive, YCAF Knowledge Forum and the launching of the YCAF logo coinciding the rebranding of CA Sri Lanka in 2012.

Dulitha is an active member of Rotary Club of Colombo East and counts nearly three decades of service in the accounting profession. His expertise ranges from audit, tax and consulting services in Sri Lanka and overseas including in Bangladesh, the Maldives and in the Sultanate of Oman and has contributed to numerous national initiatives.
