Ruggeritres make the city happy, Kandy Sports Club played well to beat who Air Force in their first outing of the league tournament are the most successful Men’s rugby team of all-time with a winning percentage, in their first outing at Ratmalana scored 34 points against 12 after leading 15-12 at the breather. They have created a unique record in club rugby by winning the League for six successive years and 21 times since 1994.

Old Trinitians Old Royalists clash at golf

The old Trinitians vs old Royalists will tee off on 29th Saturda yat the Victoria Golf and Country resort. The contest is played for the G.C. Wickramasinghe trophy. Wickramasinghe was a member of the 1951 Royal rugby team and played along with players like H.E.Wijesinghe the captain, A. Anghie, L.H. Rahim, T.L.K. Mendis, Stanley. Unamboowe,A.B. Henricus, D. Dharmaratne, S. P. Wickremasinghe, A.Brian. Van twest, C.M.S de Silva, D.C. Rodrigo, H.Norman Goonawardene, C. Balachandran and Stanley Goonaratne. The event will be held under the distinguished patronage of Principal Rev. Fr. Araliya Jayasundara. The inaugural encounter between the two schools was hosted by Trinitians in 2018 at Victoria Golf and Country Club at Rajawella. The first two teams, Royal side were made out of golfers like Gihan Wickramasinghe, Arjun Fernando, Glen Mathew, Kapila Dandeniya, Priyanga Hapugalle and Jehaan Ismail. Trinity Bimal Fernando, Fazley Azhar, Ravi Mediwake, Sathies Balasubramaniam, Srgaran Ganesh, Ravana Wijeyeratne, Michael Richardson and M. Sri Mahadevan. This time Trintiy side will be led by FazleyAzar who teed in the first event in 2018, and the Royal side will be led by Ananda Jayasekara the winners will be presented the G. C. Wickremesinghe Challenge Trophy.
