Murder over land dispute; suspect arrested

The Katugastota Police took into custody a suspect in connection with the murder of a person over a land dispute between two families.

The victim has been murdered by cutting off a leg with an electric saw used for felling trees.

The deceased has been identified as Pradeep Prasanna (28).

The suspect is the uncle of the deceased. The suspect and the deceased are residents of Hamangoda, Katugastota.

“A dispute between the deceased and the suspect over a fence had resulted in the murder,” Police said.

Police have seized a mechanical saw that was allegedly used to sever the leg of the deceased. Katugastota Police is investigating.
