Motion against President next Tuesday - Speaker

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena announced that the Motion to Express Displeasure against President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will be taken up in Parliament on May 17.

He said there was no change in the Parliament’s resolution last Friday’s to commence the sittings next Tuesday (May 17). He added that no special consent or directions will be taken to commence sittings that day.

The Speaker told the Party Leader’s meeting held yesterday that it was decided there to take up the Motion against the President next Tuesday.
