Two held for illegally transporting petrol

Two suspects who were transporting 850 litres of petrol without a licence were arrested by the Vellavali Police on Monday (22) in the Vellavali town.

The two suspects were arrested after it was discovered that several barrels of petrol were in the cab that had come to cross the roadblock in Vellavali town, police said.

The two suspects arrested are aged 47 and 41 and are residents of the Mahaoya area.

The suspects were produced before the Kaluwanchikudy Magistrate’s Court on Sunday (22) and remanded till May 25.

Vellavali Police are conducting further investigations.
